WSP Blog is taking a short hiatus until Monday, November 2nd (right before Election Day!) but there’s still a few posts lingering (more updated photos of the work, and some commentary) that I’ll post in the interim so check back!

SouthEast section of the Park * October 5, 2009

As of this morning, Washington Square Park NorthEast & SouthEast Fenced Off and Closed!

Yes, it happened. As of this morning, North Eastern and South Eastern sections of Washington Square Park are closed (that is close to HALF the park) in preparation for Washington Square Park Redesign:  Phase II.  No signs anywhere indicating what’s going on — for those who don’t know, if they don’t, for example, read this blog (I’m sometimes astounded at the lack of communicating the New York City Parks Department chooses to do.  I mean signage in advance would have been nice.) — you’d think they’d have at least one “Working to Improve Your Park” sign ready to prop up.

Photos to follow.
